The Emergency Administration of Opiate Antagonist Act was passed in 2017. It allows a pharmacist to prescribe and dispense an opiate antagonist (naloxone) to a person at risk of experiencing an opiate related drug overdose, to a person in a position to assist a person at risk of an opiate overdose, or to a person who, in the course of their official duties or business, may encounter a person experiencing an opiate related drug overdose.
